JUBILEE CONCERTS 25 YEARS COLOGNE PHILHARMONIE

The Cologne Philharmonie – the heart of musical life in Cologne – celebrates its 25th anniversary at the beginning of the 2011/2012 season. The Gürzenich-Orchestra, one of its resident orchestras, will celebrate its concert home with two festive performances of Gustav Mahler’s 8th Symphony. Chief conductor Markus Stenz has invited renowned soloists such as Barbara Haveman, Orla Boylan, Christiane Oelze, Petra Lang, Maria Radner, Brandon Jovanovic, Hanno Müller-Brachmann and Günther Groissböck, and no less than six major local choirs from Cologne and Bonn to take part in the jubilee concerts on 24. and 25. September 20:00 h.
